The summer is here, and everyone in Central Texas can be thankful for the occasional “cool” spells and decent rain lately. The past few months have been busy, busy, busy, and with the onset of heat we are going to enjoy our own “cool” spell for a month or two. We’ll be posting dates and times later this month, and offering a few workshops starting in August. No doubt other events will surface as well. Happy summer!

June 17: Kids Composting Workshop at Green Gate Farms, 1 – 2 pm. We will cover vermiculture and basic “hot” composting, as well as exploring the relatively “new” concept of grub composting. Great “ick” factor for all the kids! Inquire directly with Green Gate Farms (www.greengatefarms.net).

June 24: Same as June 17 – Kids Composting Workshop at Green Gate Farms, 1 – 2 pm.

July 1: Compost workshop at Urban Roots. We’re teaching the Urban Roots kids how to make a big, hot compost pile, using material from Daily Juice, Kerbey Lane, Olivia’s, and other local restaurants.
