Break It Down offers composting services for businesses in Austin, Texas. We can accept all vegetative wastes, compostable serviceware products, paper towels, other soiled paper and cardboard, and some waxed cartons.
All material is composted in partnership with local farms and community gardens, and resulting compost is used by each entity for on-site food production.

We accept all glass, plastics #1 – #7, aluminum, metal, paper, and cardboard. All recyclables are taken to Ecology Action, a responsible drop-off center in downtown Austin.
Are there other benefits?
Because of our scale and composting methods, we regularly find and return silverware and other items to our customers. This is an added benefit that helps minimize your costs. Additionally, because Break it Down has both for-profit and non-profit components, support of our hauling system also benefits our educational, volunteer, and internship programs.
