Break It Down offers composting and recycling services for businesses in and around Austin, Texas. If you want to start reducing your waste load, or are just interested in how it all works, contact us to find out how we can help. We are happy to visit your location, explain our service options, and help you implement a composting system for your business that insures that organic material is recycled back into the local agricultural system rather than lost in a landfill.
We work hard to ensure a dependable and conscientious service – and we aren’t satisfied with a collection system if compostable material is still going into the trash. Additionally, employees of our clients are welcomed and encouraged to attend our composting workshops at Green Gate Farms at no charge, to educate themselves on the process both for their work and for their homes. What can you compost?
We can accept all vegetative material at this point. Because of our scale, we prefer to recycle paper and cardboard at ecology action. If paper material is soiled with food products, however, we can usually compost it.
In part because of additional TCEQ permitting requirements, we are not currently able to accept any meat, grease, dairy products, or bones. We hope to offer this service in the future.
What can you recycle?
All recyclable material is taken to Ecology Action in downtown Austin. We can accept all glass, plastics #1 – #7, aluminum, metal, paper, and cardboard.
